Children's Service

Today the kids were in charge of "big people" church. It was fantastic. The games were a hoot, the preaching was amazing by our beloved children's pastor, the skits were funny, and the worship was energetic. Evan is a member of the youth worship team and really enjoys it. He does a great job. I am so proud of him! One part of the service today was the team reading verses from the Bible about Jesus' birth. Each letter of the word CHRISTMAS represented part of the story. Evan's part was the first S. He is in the very center of the group. He read his part so clearly and confidently.

Later in the service, the team lead the congregation in a couple of songs. Evan is on stage in a white t-shirt in the right side of the screen (above the boys on the floor in the striped shirts). Also, Lauren is dancing on the floor on the right side of the screen wearing a blue striped sweater dress and light blue leggings.

This is their second song they danced to. I am amazed at their energy. I am also amazed at how both of my kids don't seem to show any nervousness or fear being up in front of a bunch of people. When I find myself in that position, I have shaking knees and hands, shaky voice, and shortness of breath. Evan did such an awesome job representing the children of our church. I am also pleased to say that Lauren's dancing got noticed. One of the older gentlemen at our church came up to me after service asking where Lauren was because he wanted to tell her what a great job she did dancing. He found her and told her. Than later tonight we hosted our life group dinner at our house and one of the ladies told me what a great job Lauren did dancing. So nice to hear, and for her to hear herself, especially since we know one of her God-given gifts is dancing.
