The saying in this post's title is so true! I have seen this happen over and over again. Two things just happened this week to prove it.
The first thing was finding a piano teacher for Princess. Now, we haven't been seriously searching for one, but it's always been in the back of my mind. The piano is the only instrument she has ever talked about learning to play and she loves using our keyboard. A couple of months ago in our local homeschool organization's newsletter someone had advertised giving piano lessons and their location was the small town we just moved from--but we still only live 7 minutes away from. I thought to myself, "Wow! That would be awesome to have someone so close by." I filed the info in the back of my mind and told myself to check the next month's newsletter to see if the advertisement would be in that one. Sure enough it was. I just started getting an antsy, heart pounding feeling that this may be something to seriously think about for Lauren. I decided to email the teacher and find out how much lessons were, and what availability she had open. She emailed me back and lessons were only $12 for a once a week, 30 minute lesson. I discussed it with Hubby and he took a couple of days to think about it and agreed to it happening. I called the teacher and we chit chatted a little more. She hinted that as time moved along if students were interested she enjoyed teaching them hymns; so I wondered if she was a Christian. As I explained that we knew her town very well because we lived there for 12 years, but told her where our new address was, she told me where she lives. It is literally down the street from us and only takes 5 minutes to drive to her house from our house! I know because Princess started her lessons today and we timed it. What a wonderful opportunity that God provided us with! Oh, and the teacher is a Christian. We walked into her house and there were decorations in abundance showing her faith. And, she is very nice and worked really well with Princess today.
The second opportunity granted to us is the Disney On Ice. It has come to our city probably annually but we have never gone and I so wanted to take Princess. It has been on my mind for a few weeks now because the show will be here in a month, but tickets are so expensive! But, just today, our homeschool girl scout troop just sent out a message that for two show times they are offering discounted tickets to scouts and their families. Eeeekkkk!! And by discount, I mean more than half off the lowest ticket price the public has to pay. Oh My Goodness! Now, I haven't talked to Hubby yet, but I am so hoping that we can do one of those time slots because we can definitely afford the tickets a lot better with the discount instead of knowing we couldn't go to the show again this year because we couldn't afford the tickets.
And even though I was never praying for these things to happen, but just sort of wishing they might happen, it was like God just kind of wonderfully surprised me with these two opportunities! Thank you God!
