Cool Dude and I were discussing the Great Flood, where the ark is believed to have landed (Middle East) and how that would make sense considering how the human population exploded in that area vs. say North America, how clans formed after the Tower of Babel was built and languages were confused, etc. during school today. We also were reading and talking about what evolutionists think concerning the Flood, Ice Age, Tower of Babel, etc, and how creationists believe the world is thousands of years old vs. millions of years old. Cool Dude was really getting into all of this. At one point I was explaining to him how evolutionists believe we started out as little cells from nowhere and eventually people evolved from apes. He just looked at me and very humorously said, "Those people are out of their minds!"
Then there was a point in our study where it mentioned that after the flood, yes people may have lived in caves as a place of shelter and we began talking about how some people look at cave men as stupid, grunting humans who had to evolve into intelligent people instead of people who were already intelligent and just needed a few generations of repopulating in order to begin creating a more sophisticated culture. At one point it was mentioned that there are some people who don't believe these cave people could have been intelligent enough to create the art drawings found in caves, so they believe that aliens from outer space visited our world and created that. Cool Dude just about fell out of his chair laughing at this thought.
Disclaimer: I would like to say that all of the humor CD found in all of this schooling was not encouraged by me! He came to these conclusions on his own, and I am so proud of watching his maturity.
